T+L names Williamsburg one of America’s Favorite Towns

Exciting news! Travel + Leisure has named Williamsburg, VA one of America’s Favorite Towns in their eighth annual America’s Favorite Places survey.

Readers particularly appreciated the centuries-old heritage and mellow atmosphere. Williamsburg offers both visitors and residents a unique shopping experience, ranging from rare volumes at Mermaid Books, heirloom seeds and 18th century plantings at Colonial Nursery to legit petticoats at Mary Dickinson Shop.

Also noteworthy, the bakeries received high marks in the surveys, especially the gingerbread at Raleigh Tavern Bake Shop.
