Directions from anywhere in the United States

Directions from Richmond Take Highway 64 East toward Williamsburg and Norfolk. Exit to the right on Route 199/Lightfoot Exit 234. Stay on 199 for 6 miles and turn right onto Monticello Avenue. Continue west on Monticello Avenue (also marked as Route 5000) for 4 miles. Just after Monticello Avenue merges into Route 5 West, watch for the low white fencing on your left that denotes Governor's Land property. Turn left into the entrance and stop at the Security Cottage for directions to your destination.

Directions from Norfolk Take Route 64 West to Exit 242A. Exit onto Route 199 West (toward Jamestown) and proceed for 7. 0 miles. Take the Monticello Avenue (VA321) exit and stay left to head west on Monticello Avenue (also marked as Route 5000). Drive 4. 5 miles to a stop light at the intersection with Route 5. Continue straight through the light on Route 5 West. Go 0. 4 miles and watch for the white fencing on your left that marks Governor's Land property. Turn left into the entrance and stop at the Security Cottage for directions to your destination.
